The Gardiner Sanitary District is under an Enforcement Order that requires either replacement of the sewage pipe under the Umpqua River, or conversion of the IP Gardiner wastewater treatment plant to domestic use. They chose the latter option. Therefore, the Department is proposing to modify and renew the existing IP Gardiner NPDES permit and then transfer the permit to the Gardiner Sanitary District once the upgrades and modifications to the facility and collection system are complete.
